There is a balance in all things, a universal ying and yang, if you will. Up and down, left and right, good and evil, lucky and unlucky, people who like Mondays (damn freaks) and those who don’t. I don’t know about you, but Richard E. Smith hates Mondays. Most people do.
You just had a great weekend. On Saturday, you spent time with your kids, went shopping, saw a movie, had a hot date, maybe got lucky. Sunday, you went to church for some spiritual recharging, watched the big game, and cheered for your favorite team. But now it’s Monday, the beginning of the school and work week.
Throughout his life, Richard has had horrendous Mondays. So many in fact, that he sometimes wonders if he has been cursed. Can you guess what day of the week he was born? That’s right, a Monday, which in itself isn’t so bad, but he was supposed to be born on a Friday. He loves Fridays!
This past January, Richard had a Monday to end all Mondays. Or at least all his Mondays, and wouldn’t you just know it, he was about to meet the girl of his dreams.
“I Hate Mondays” is about a case of mistaken identity which sends our hapless hero on a fast-paced, comic misadventure through the streets of Los Angeles and beyond, way beyond.
